Private Healthcare Funding

At a recent Healthcare conference it was shown that the only two areas of funding growth were in the self-pay market and in utilization of Non Discretionary Healthcare Trusts (NDHT) as an alternative to Private Medical Insurance for the company paid sector.

Risk Rating Tools

Healix have developed the UK's foremost web-enabled medical risk assessment tool for travel insurance sales.  This experience has now been used to produce a product to define levels of cover in private medical insurance sales to those with pre-existing medical conditions. 

Independent Sector Treatment Centres (ISTCs)

ISTCs are the first major treatment alternatives to NHS or private sector hospitals.  Contracts have been finalised, construction is under way and treatment will begin in 2004.   ISTCS will perform large numbers of a limited range of procedures with benefit in terms of unit cost.  This significant competition will produce some interesting results.
