About Us

Healix was started in 1992 by doctors Peter Mason and Paul Beven, and Michael Mason, to provide medical services to the insurance industry, companies, and the general public. It is a completely independent organisation, staffed entirely by doctors and nurses and provides 24 hr services. It aims to provide the highest quality services,  
and has invested in staff and systems accordingly.

In 2002, Healix was proud to receive the award for  "Best Medical Provider of the Year" from International Travel Insurance Journal.

As a mark of our consistency and product innovation, Healix were again voted  "Best Medical Provider of the Year" from International Travel Insurance Journal in 2004.

Healix is comprised of the following three divisions: 
 
Healix Risk Rating Ltd.; (www.healix.com/risk-rating)  is the largest provider of screening (i.e. risk-rating tools) to the travel insurance industry in the UK.  It has pioneered the use of web enabled technology, and in 2003 rated over 1 million cases.  Over 2,000 pathologies are recognized, and a back-up team of doctors and nurses is available in the event of complications.  It has developed programmes for the private healthcare market, with the life insurance industry to follow.
 
Healix International Ltd; (www.healix.com/international) provides medical case monitoring and evacuation services to the travel industry.  It is the largest such company in the UK.  In 2003 it will manage 20,000 cases worldwide, will arrange over 1,400 commercial evacuations and 300 air ambulance evacuations.  Healix funds its own private jet (Lear 45), based at Biggin Hill Airport, for air ambulances.
 
Healix Health Services Ltd.; (www.healix.com/health-services) provides third party administration and cost containment services to private medical insurance companies based both in the UK and abroad.  It arranges and manages healthcare trust funds for companies and organizations looking for an alternative to expensive private medical insurance.
